“Term thinking” is a way of thinking, attitude, and action that takes advantage of their positions, powers, influence and prestige during their tenure of office to benefit individuals and families. It is a type of metaphysical thinking, with a short-term, provisional view during an individual's term of office. People with "term thinking" often do not dare to think, do and assume personal responsibility, and do not wholeheartedly serve the country and the people.
When leaders and managers have "term thinking", their subordinates, no matter how active, dynamic and creative they are, are not encouraged and promoted. These are frustrating issues when it comes to the “term thinking” of the staffs holding leadership and management positions at all levels. The cover of the book Facing the urgent requirements of fighting against, preventing of and overcoming the influences of "term thinking", Assoc. Prof. Dr. Le Thi Thanh Ha (Editor) and her colleagues have compiled the book entitled “The influences of "term thinking" on the effectiveness of leadership and management activities in Vietnam currently”. The book consists of 3 chapters, focusing on analyzing the nature of "term thinking", its manifestations and impacts on the effectiveness of leadership and management activities in Vietnam currently, hence offering views and basic solutions to cope with these challenges. The book was published by the Political Theory Publishing House in June 2021. The electronic portal of HCMA is pleased to introduce the book.
